8TH Grade Promotion and Event Criteria

The following criteria must be met to promote. 

1. Students must have a 3.5 Citizenship and 3.5 academic GPA to be promoted with both a certificate of Academic Distinction and will wear a gold cord to symbolize this during Promotion. 
2. Students that earn at least a 2.5 Citizenship and between 2.0 and a 3.9 in Academic GPA may promote with a Certificate of Completion and will wear a burgundy cord at promotion.
3. Students that at least earn a 2.5 citizenship but DID NOT MEET THE 2.0 ACADEMIC will be allowed to participate but will not receive a cord.   

The Following will disqualify you from Promotion and Promotion events.

• No more than one U during the second semester.
• Resolved all fines and library debts, including textbooks.
• Any and all suspensions will be reviewed by the administration. Students will be removed form the promotion ceremony if a safety concern exists.
• Tardies (only affects dance, parties and field trips) No more than 20 in a single semester.
• Referrals(affects dances, parties and field trips) No more than 10 in a semester.
