Social Workers at Monroe Clark are committed to providing parent, student and teacher support that leads to greater student learning, stronger families and successful communities.

School Social Workers
ENHANCE STUDENT'S SCHOOL SUCCESS by:

  • Linking school, home and community

  • Increase student motivation

  • Understand familiar development factors that inhibit learning

  • Conduct individual, group and family counseling

  • Teach coping and problem solving skills

  • Build ongoing relationships confronting difficult issues

REDUCE BARRIERS TO LEARNING

  • Develop parent understanding of their children's social and emotional needs

  • Assist students in increasing coping skills to succeed in school

  • Identify, assist and refer students with health and mental health needs

  • Develop prevention programs (character education, violence prevention,attendance and drop out)

  • Increase access to community resources to assist students and families whose personal needs and living situations affect school success.
